Carton recording unit

To make a block for notes with your own hands using cardboard technique, you will need a sheet of cardboard binding (2 mm) measuring 20x20 cm, cardboard 1 mm thick (20x 20 cm), two pieces of fabric matched in color (20x30 cm each), lace, Whatman paper A3), kraft paper, as well as PVA glue, transparent quick-drying polymer glue, knife, cutting mat, scissors. The first step is to prepare the details of the box for the records. To do this, from the cardboard (2 mm), cut out the bottom part (9 cm square) and side wall parts (two rectangles measuring 9x5.8 cm (A1, A2) and two 8.6x5.8 cm (B1, B2). On part A1, make a cutout for paper.

Cut out the details with a sharp knife or roller knife, adjusting the cut line with a metal ruler. for cutting or linoleum.

First, glue rectangles of size 9x5.8 cm (A1, A2) to the bottom detail. To do this, apply polymer glue to the cut of the rectangles, attach the parts to the bottom, and then glue the remaining side walls (B1, B2) and reinforce the joints with Kraft paper glued onto the PVA.

The next step is to paste over the outer part of the block with cloth. To do this, cut a piece of drawing paper with a size of 27x6 cm, divide it into three 9x6 cm rectangles, make a cutout for the paper in the middle rectangle. Cut a rectangle of 29x8 cm from the fabric. Apply a thin layer of PVA glue on the drawing paper; remove the excess glue with a sponge or foam roller. Glue the drawing paper and fabric, smoothing the folds with a soft spatula or a plastic card and leaving the same allowances on each side of the workpiece.

Make cuts on the fabric at the cut-out point for the paper.

Thus, the fabric will be pasted over three sides of the box: the part with the cutout for the paper and the sides adjacent to it. The opposite side is not pasted over.

Next, you need to issue fabric allowances. Start from the bottom. Bring the allowances to the bottom, level them. Align the corners of the perpendicular sides and cut off the excess fabric. Glue the fabric to the bottom of the box.

Here and further, to glue the fabric to paper parts (cardboard, drawing paper), use PVA glue. Polymer glue is needed only for gluing cardboard box parts. Remaining fabric allowances go to the inside of the box. Cut corners according to the same principle as when making the bottom.

Go to the internal wrapping block for records. Let's start from the bottom.Cut a square with a side of 8.5 cm from the drawing paper, and 10.5 cm from the fabric. Glue the fabric to the drawing paper. Cut the corners of the fabric at a right angle to the drawing paper.

Glue the fabric to the bottom of the box, putting allowances on the side walls.

Since one of the walls of the box (A2) was not glued, we need to arrange a cut along the outer edge. To do this, cut a strip of 8.5x3 cm from a polka dot fabric and paste over it with a cut.

To complete the process of internal wrapping of the block for records, paste a fabric with a floral pattern (27.5x7.5 cm) on a drawing paper (25.5 x 5.5 cm) . Cut the corners at a 45-degree angle to the base of the fabric blank. Glue the long sides of the rectangle to the inside.Block for records in the technique of cardboard Glue the resulting part to the side walls of B1, A2, B2, get the short allowances for A1.

Go to the design of the cover. Cut out a rectangle of 9.5x10 cm (block cover) from cardboard 2 mm thick, and a rectangle of 6x10 cm (A2) and 9.5x10 cm (bottom of the box) from a cardboard of 1 mm. Glue the cardboard parts on the paper paper, leaving between them 2-3 mm.

Take a fabric with a floral pattern and cut a part of 13x17 cm in size, glue it to the cardboard blank of the cover. Put the corners of the fabric on the cardboard blank, fix it with glue, then bend the side allowances. Get a neat corner.

Glue the allowances to the cardboard parts, and also glue the lace.

Details from cardboard 1 mm thick will not be visible, so you do not need to glue them on the inside, but you must stick a square with a side of 9.5 cm on the cover part (on putman (9.5x9.5 cm) to glue the fabric (11.5x11.5 cm), cut corners at a 45 degree angle, start three allowances inside.
