How to change the program

  • Customize the "Select default programs" applet.
In fact, you can use absolutely everything.programs, but in the end the user comes to the fact that he appearsprogramswhich he uses constantly. As a rule, most programs have the potential to automatically assign file types to their value, but in some cases you have to do it yourself.
To launch the “Select default programs” applet, click the “Start” menu and select the corresponding item from the right side of the menu, if the “Modern” design style, and from the left column for “Classic” design. In some cases, this item may be in the “Allprograms"Depending on the version of the operating system.
If you cannot find the item you are looking for, select “Control Panel” in the “Start” menu and launch “Add or Remove Programs.” In the window that opens, notice the left column,select the last item "Select default programs".
Now you are in the program selection window. Check the box next to “Other”. In the list that opens, for each element, you can assign your value as executableprograms. For example, choose Mozilla Firefox as the browser instead of Internet Explorer, and use AIMP instead of Windows Media Player.
To complete the change operation of automatically launched applications, click OK. Go to the folder with the files and double click on it, check if the recently specified program opens by default.
But not allprogramsdisplayed in the “Program Selection” applet. Therefore, there is also a manual change method. To do this, right-click on the file being tested and select "Open with".
In the window that opens, select the program, tick the box next to “Use it for all files of this type” and click the “OK” button. If thisprogramswas not in the list, click the Browse button, specify the path to the executable fileprogramsand click "Open".
