How to improve the WiFi router antenna
Turn the antenna of an ordinary WiFi router into an improved one that will have a longer range, and all this can be done in 15 minutes without any cost. Very often, a low-band whip antenna is used for inexpensive WiFi routers. In fact, this is just a piece of wire. In expensive routers, a longer antenna with matching turns is already underway. Naturally, such an antenna catches many times better. A cheap router model is used in my house, for which I will make a good antenna, like expensive models. So, let's start ... Remove the top of the plastic from the antenna.A small screwdriver is perfect for this. You need to repeat the shape of the improved antenna, as shown in the photoYou will need: a small insulated or uninsulated copper wire, a screw on a tree, measuring tape and a soldering ironMeasure 7 cm of wire and bend at this placeUsing a screw as a template, wind the full seven turns of the wire on it starting from the marked place. To remove the screw, turn it counterclockwise. Cut the wire 2 cm below the spring produced. After that, you need to clean 3 mm of insulation or strip 3 mm of uninsulated wire (depending on which one you use).Cut the wire of the standard antenna, leaving about 6 mm After that, remove 3 mm from the insulation. Solder the new antenna to the rest of the wire.To do this, you need to impose uninsulated parts of the wires.Take a large straw cocktail and put it onits on the antenna. For example, such ones are used in McDonald’s. The straw should fit perfectly and for the base of the WiFi antenna. They will not even go together to glue. It seems that this was intended. So that the straw does not stand out, it can be colored with a permanent marker.
