How to Choose Wine
How to Pick a Great Wine
1.Syrah is Shiraz
It's the same wine, but it's called Syrah in Europe and Shiraz in Australia. Either way, it tends to be deep and dark with rich plum, pepper and spice flavors.
2.Not Just Napa
Look for California wines from Sonoma and Mendocino, which have reasonably priced, good-quality Chardonnays, Cabernets and Zinfandels.
Buy a Chianti to go with pizza, lasagna or meatballs. Try a California Zinfandel with steak. And finish strawberries and cream with sweet Champagne.
4.How to Store Wine
Lay bottles on their side in a dark place free from vibrations and odors, with a steady temperature between 50°F and 55°F.
