OUTRAGE! Kentucky Teacher CAUGHT ON VIDEO DRAGGING 6-Year Old Boy Down Hallway!!
Kentucky Teacher Does Something Horrifying To 6-Year-Old, Gets To Keep Working
These days, a questionable social media post can put your job in jeopardy, never mind a violent act caught on camera. But despite surveillance footage of teacher Ashley Silas dragging a 6-year-old student down the hallway at Brooks Elementary School in Kentucky, she's back in the classroom.
In the video from last October, she can be seen with her cell phone in one hand and the first-grader in the other, pulling him for about 160 feet along the floor. They were heading to her office because Silas claims that the child was being disobedient and "threatening another student." Some of Silas's peers as well as other students witnessed the incident.

She was fired the following month after the footage surfaced, but she filed an appeal, claiming that the child was being "disruptive" and actually "enjoyed" being dragged. (The boy told reporters that was not the case.) The district review board overruled the school's decision. Instead of termination, Silas was suspended for seven weeks without pay and returned as a substitute teacher in the same district.
The student's father, who's chosen to remain anonymous, is, of course, outraged with the district's decision. Every time he sees the video, he says, "I get a sick feeling in my stomach." The boy's parents told local network WAVE 3 that the boy has ADHD, but the medication's side effects make him unable to take it while in school. The parents also say they're in communication with the school regarding his behavior.

But the district attorney, Eric Farris, says hiring Silas back was not what the district wanted to do. According to WAVE 3, "the tribunal appeals system left [the district] no choice."
Although Silas is working again, she's not completely in the clear. Local police are looking into the incident to see if criminal charges should be brought against her.
