Moisturizing Ingredients You Should Use In Your Fall Skin Care Routine

With winter almost at our door and the fall season nearly over, our skin is already feeling the effects of too little moisture and too little exposure to natural air. The heating indoors is making everything static, starting to crack the skin and driving us just a little crazy. The moisturizing lotions we had stocked up on are starting to finally get some use as well. Yet, not every lotion is good enough and some only serve to deepen the damage. Instead of preventing the dryness, we are seeing irritations and very little help from our expensive creams. That might be because the moisturizers you are using lack some essential ingredients used to truly protect, heal and soothe your skin. If you haven’t already, check your product ingredients for traces of any of these lovely essentials perfect to be used in yourfall skin care routine!

Moisturizing Ingredients You Should Use In Your Fall Skin Care Routine

1.Glycerin:There’s even a hand cream itself called Glycerin, one, which my family has always kept in our travel packs. Often a change in atmosphere causes the same damage to the skin as staying indoors in dry heat or being whipped by cold winds may. Glycerin, with its strange tendency to take all the moisture from the air around it and pull it into your skin, is actually working at its best when you step right out of the shower. It is a silky product, which doesn’t cause any stickiness and allows you to apply makeup immediately afters, while also being quite inexpensive. This means most products have a healthy amount of glycerine in their ingredients.

2.Urea:Kind of sounds like Urethra… or something else you would find in a doctor’s dictionary. However, synthetic urea is crucial in exfoliating as well as moisturizing the skin, best worked into the roughest spots on the body. This most definitely includes you heels and elbows. While most other products will simply stay on top of the skin, urea helps pull away the dead skin, allowing for a deeper penetration and better results overall.

3.Ceramides:Glowing might not be the first of your worries, but it’s most definitely an added benefit to having ceramides relieve dry, itchy skin before they start cracking and bleeding. They work around the clock to ensure moisture is sealed into the skin after they are immediately absorbed, acting as a natural defense for the skin.

4.Hyaluronic Acid:This is a molecule that loves to attack fine lines and less than smooth skin. It is a glutton for absorbing water and really fills in those lines immediately. However, it is quite an expensive ingredient that is used sparingly and is often only present at lower concentrations. If you have this included in the ingredients list, you are in luck!

5.Petrolatum:Also known as petroleum jelly or, in its finished product – Vaseline, petrolatum is an extremely thick ingredient which creates a protective film trapping moisture inside and preventing the natural loss of water from the human body. It is quite greasy and should only be used on the outer skin, but it works its magic perfectly. Sleeping with Vaseline on will have you looking fresh and soft come morning. It is certainly a staple in every old woman’s home and we can see why!

6.Lactic Acid:Dry legs are a huge problem in the winter. We know how much moisturizer you lather onto your body after every shower, hoping against hope your skin doesn’t appear or feel scaly. It is quite the beauty fear and we cover up the unattractive look with long skirts, pants and dark pantyhose. Lactic acid is a miracle drug for dry legs, especially when used as a base before using another moisturizer. Between its ability to hydrate and exfoliate, it might just be perfect to use on every part of your body, including the skin around your breasts that’s both dry and itchy after a whole day in a bra and multiple layers of clothing preventing any air from soothing it.
