Net-a-Porter Gets Set To Launch Beauty
The luxury online retailer will start selling make-up, skin and hair products later this month
Luxury fashion e-tailer Net-a-Porter has announced today that will it start selling beauty products for the first time.
From 20th March, online shoppers will be able to browse and buy make-up, skincare and hair products on the website, which has led the way when it comes to purchasing designer fashion online.
Beauty will now have its own top navigation pane on the site alongside other categories such as clothing, bags and shoes. To begin with beauty fans will be able to buy a select edit of products from 11 brands including Chantecaille, Natura Bissé, Aesop, Le Metier de Beaute, Philip B and James Read, before a bigger phased rollout. This will see new items, which also includes nail polish and fragrance, from both emerging and established brands hitting the e-shop every week.

Today’s news seems like a natural step for the company, which saw sales rise to a bumper £368 million last year. Net-a-Porter, which was founded by current British Fashion Council chairman Natalie Massenet, has long featured beauty products and articles in its online magazine, with the content ramped up recently with more catwalk trend-led pieces and video tutorials.
Alison Loehnis, managing director of Net-a-Porter, said: ‘We are delighted to continue the expansion of the Net-a-Porter brand with the addition of beauty. The move is a natural evolution of our business.
