Painting of glasses

Ordinary dishes sometimes become too dull. The best way to correct this gloom is to add color. Sometimes it is not very clear how you can decorate ordinary glass and especially dishes. Of course, tableware is a separate and difficult topic. After all, the food we eat touches it. For example, take the glasses for wine. No food elements interact with the outside, which means that it is possible to deal with it. Before you start, you need to decide exactly which pattern will be applied to the glass. In this master class, lilies act as a drawing. Having printed out the selected drawing of the required size in advance, it is necessary to prepare all materials for work. For work, you will need: a glass (on which the painting will be done), a degreaser (an agent for removing varnish with acetone), cotton wheels (or some other rag leaving no fiber), prepared drawing, scotch (transparent or paper), scissors, stained glass contour and paints (in this water-based master class). Required materials and tools. Required materials and tools
Once everything is prepared, you can begin to work. The workplace must be comfortable and clean. It is better to have some materials on hand (rags or paper) in order to wipe the leaked tube, to remove the excess from the dispenser. You can also stock up with cotton buds or toothpicks, so you can immediately correct the flaws. And the best is both. The next step is to fix the picture on the glass, or rather, in the glass. The image should be fixed from the inside, which is quite logical. It can be fixed with adhesive tape. Gently small pieces on top and bottom. It should be attentive and secured so that the tape does not fall into the area of the image itself (in places where paint or contour will be applied). A glass with a fixed pattern.

After the picture is firmly fixed and there is complete confidence that it will not fall off and will not move down and crawl, you can proceed to the next stage. This step is surface preparation.Sometimes there are labels on new glasses, and simply all surfaces, by definition, have a fatty layer. In connection with these facts it is necessary to clean and degrease the surface intended for processing. Alcohol, acetone, gasoline-galosh may be suitable as a degreaser. Unfortunately, these tools are very odorous and not always available. In this case, as a degreaser, a nail polish remover with acetone may come off. He has something for every decent girl. The surface where the pattern is supposed to be wiped with a cotton pad or a piece of cloth soaked in a degreaser. After processing the surface of the glass should be conveniently put in a horizontal position. It is in the horizontal position that the paints spread least of all, which prevents uneven filling with color. It is recommended to use a pillow as a substrate, it protects the glass from hard surfaces and minimizes the chance of breaking or scratching the glass. You can also tie a glass to a pillow so that it cannot fall off of it, but this is already at will and preferences. Low-fat glass on a pillow.

The next step is to apply the contour.Due to the fact that the glass has a spherical shape, the image is distorted. Therefore, for a more accurate, correct and beautiful pattern, it is necessary to apply a paint-contour looking at the image strictly perpendicular, you can still close one eye for greater accuracy. Otherwise, the proportions of the picture will be broken and the beauty will not work. Paint-contour is most often produced in tubes with a narrow nose. This spout is a "brush". Carefully, uniformly squeezing out the pasty mass, it is necessary to apply paint on the surface of the glass along the contour of the pattern. Always make sure that the contour has no voids and is not interrupted. In the case of irregularity and irregularity of the contour, the color inks may flow beyond it. This can greatly damage the picture. If the selected drawing consists of two parts, as in this master class, the application of the paint will occur in two stages. One stage on one plane. Applying the contour of the first plane, leave the glass to dry at room temperature. Drying time depends on the type and manufacturer of the contour ink. On its packaging, this time must be indicated. On average, it takes about two hours. A glass with a contour on the first plane. Cup with a contour After the outline on the first plane is dried, the glass is gently turned over so that the second plane is perpendicular to the view. Next, a similar method applies the contour to the second plane. If there are more planes than two, then similar actions are performed with each of them in the same sequence. After all the outlines are thoroughly dried, you can proceed to the next stage: filling with color. First you need to put the glass again the first plane up perpendicular to the view. When opening a bottle of paint, be prepared that the paint itself can immediately flow out, even if the spout is located upwards. Do not be afraid, it is best to remove the excess and gently start filling. Filling color with a picture you should pay special attention to the presence of air bubbles. They arise, as a rule, at the first drops or if the tip of the tube is often detached from the surface. Also, do not forget that all the necessary sections must be filled completely, in every corner, in each contour. Otherwise, it will be poor and ugly. After all the necessary areas on the first plane are filled, the paint must be dried. Drying occurs at room temperature. The time depends on the type and manufacturer of the paint, but on average this time is 24 hours. Details are listed on the packaging or on the tubes. After the first surface is dried in the same way, the second plane is filled. In the same sequence, other planes are filled in, if any. When all the planes are filled, it is advisable to leave the glasses to dry for some time. You can make sure that the paint is dry by gently moving your finger over the paint. The main thing, without fanaticism, otherwise ugly fingerprints may remain. A glass with a pattern filled with color.

After complete drying paints must be carefully examinedthe resulting pattern. As a rule, there are always small flaws (a little extra contour, the color crawled out of the border). The next step will be the adjustment of these very flaws. To do this, you need a tool (in our case a nail polish remover), cotton swabs or cotton pads in tandem with a toothpick. Applying a liquid to the cotton part - in the case of a disk, and even putting a toothpick - gently, and accurately remove the excess. It is necessary to avoid contact with the main picture, because there is a risk of spoiling it. By removing all surpluses, we get a finished glass. A finished glass with a painting.

It will take about two to paint a glass three days. The key point is the drying time. Such glasses will be an unusual decoration of any home. They can also be the most unforgettable gift!
